With thousands of Arkansas vehicles displaying specialty number plates that support a plethora of causes, Department of Transport (DOT) officials are pushing for even more plates on the roads this year.
Groups ranging from Coastguard and Army veterans to environmentalists could see legislators approve number plates for their causes.
However, while some cash-strapped organisations use money from the number plates to fund essential services, others dont have enough support for the state to even get them into production. Some critics also argue that the police have a difficult time reading and telling apart all the special number plates already on the roads.
