Police are cracking down on residents driving with out-of-town number plates, targeting those living in apartment complexes.
Last year the Ridgeland Police Department conducted a month-long operation to curb non-registered number plates resulting in 145 citations in four days.
This week the department began distributing warnings at apartment complexes in the city placing flyers on vehicles with out of town number plates.
Number plates and descriptions of the vehicles were recorded in a data base with owners given 25 days to register them.
